Chords for "Till The End Of The Day"

Subject: Till the End of the Day

I just figured this one out, thanks to somebody who sent me a note asking
about it. I think these chords are good, but there might be one missing
after the Bb and before the C that follows it.

            C-D-F-C-D C-D-F-C-D

               C D F G C-D-F-C-D
Feel good from morning till the end of the day
                    C-D-F-C-D
till the end of the day
D C F C D C F C
I get up and I see the sun
D C A G
I feel good yeah, 'cos my life has begun
D F G Bb
You and me we're free, we do as we please, yeah
     C D F G C-D-F-C-D
from morning till the end of the day
                    C-D-F-C-D
till the end of the day
                    D C D C
till the end of the day-ay, till the end of the day-ay
                    D-C-F-G-D
till the end of the day

Date: March 12, 1998 12:26 PM From: David Goodfriend I recently went to get the lyrics for "till the end of the day". the chords are not right. the d chords in the verse should be dminor and I also notice he didn't include the ending chords which are very clever.
Date: November 15, 1998 8:38 AM From: GruggyWolf I think if you'll give it a close listen you'll hear the D chord form is actually a Dmin vs. Dmaj. The D to C to A intro is the only major version of the chord. You can hear Ray playing the chords in open positions against Dave's barre-chord positions under headphones, since Dave is playing/slashing! mainly the inner strings (ADG) in his barres you really don't hear the F note that makes it a minor chord, but in Rays open chords you can hear the Dm chord down on the first 3 frets. Anyway, give it a try and see what you think. Try playing the whole thing in open chords (except the Bb) , it's not easy! Ray was a better rythmn player than he gets credit for, especially on record, live he was pretty drunk and lazy with most backing guitar parts. Mr. Entertainment! John V. Barnes

Date: December 20, 2009 From: Jeff M I haven't found an online source yet that gets it right. Just worked it out now and the thing about the song is that the crucial D chord is first a power chord (D5) and then a MINOR! The whole flavor of the song come from that D minor and also the half step between the B flat and the A So you get D5 C5 A (intro) C5 D5 F5 C5 D5 (Baby I feel good) C5 D5 F5 C5 D5 (From the moment I rise) (feel good) F G Bflat A ( from Morning, till the end) C5 D5 F5 C5 D5 (of the day) Dmin C F C (you and me) Dmin C F C (we live our life) Dmin C F A7 (from when we get up till we sleep at night) Dmin C F C Bflat (you and me we're free, we do as we please yeah from) F G Bflat A Dmin C (morning till the end of the day) Dmin C (till the end of the day) Try it out yourself. I never imagined the song had so much of a minor feel to it, but you'll hear if you listen hard.
